As part of their interdisciplinary teaching class Ms Nardin and Mr Pichler accompanied the 5 A-WS students to the Röchling Automotive Italia in Leifers. The Röchling Group, founded in 1822, is an internationally leading company specialized in the area of plastics processing. The purpose of the visit was to give the students the opportunity to learn by doing, meeting, engaging and interacting with both top-level employees and executives. The 5 A-WS students were given a general introductory presentation in English on company history, markets and strategy followed by a tour of the work floor seeing the various workstations, automation, production and the use of robots. We could gain insights into how the company operates in different markets. I believe it has been a great way to connect concepts and curriculum taught in the classroom to opportunities in the workforce. We were all enthralled. Our two-hour visit couldn’t have been more professional, informative and educational. Gerhard Pichler Bericht von Simon Doná On Thursday, 14th November 2019 our class, the 5 A-WS accompanied by Mr Pichler and Ms Nardin, visited Röchling Automotive in Leifers. In a short presentation we were given the most important facts about Röchling, which is one of the major plastics engineering companies of the world. The presentation was very interesting because it was interactive. We formed little groups and were asked questions about the company, which was pretty fun, because we could compete with each other and see who knows most. Later on, we had the opportunity to gain an insight into the company's production processes of various plastic components, which were explained by the workers who actually carried out the respective stages of production. We were really impressed by the company's huge manufacturing plants and the sophisticated technologies they use. On the whole, a really exciting plant visit!
