„Respect“: Wenn Sprechblasen Farbe bekennen

Respect 2026 (13).jpg

Was bedeutet Respekt im Schulalltag eigentlich?

RESPECT!!
We, the students of class 2C-WM, engaged in several activities related to “RESPECT”, our school’s theme of the year.
At the start of the project, we already had some basic knowledge about what respect means and how it should be shown in everyday life. However, our teacher, Ms Stillebacher, helped us explore this important topic in much more depth and made us think about it from different perspectives.
During the lessons she showed us several videos that explained how to behave respectfully in various situations. These videos focused especially on how to approach elderly people and how to treat members of our school community in a polite and considerate way. In one of the videos, a member of school staff talked about his own experiences from when he was younger and went to school. He explained that respecting older people is very important because they have more life experience and deserve appreciation. He also mentioned that respect should not only be shown towards people, but also towards school property, such as classrooms, furniture and shared spaces.
After watching and discussing the videos together, we were asked to create our own videos about respect at our school. We formed (inclusive!!) groups of three students and worked together to write a script that we later used for filming. In our videos we explained what respect means to us personally and showed how to behave respectfully in different school-related situations. Students used several means for this purpose: acting, interviews, speeches, animations, etc.
The next step of the project was the creation of speech-bubble-shaped posters. First, we had to choose a phrase that was personally meaningful to each student and showed their view on respect. Everyone took some time to think about their phrase and why it was important. This helped us understand our own thoughts and feelings about respect. After everyone had chosen a phrase, we wrote it on the posters and decorated them in any way we liked. This procedure made every poster unique, expressing various ideas about respect.
When the posters were finished, we chose a place in the school building where many people would walk by every day. We wanted everyone to be able to see the posters easily. People could stop for a moment, read the phrases and think about what respect means to them.
In conclusion, our posters hopefully remind students and teachers that respect is an important part of our school life. Every single member can help make the school a better place, where every person is treated equally, no matter their nationality, skin color, sexuality, or opinion. By learning about respect, we can create a school environment in which everyone feels safe, accepted, and valued for who they are.
